It will be an all English final in the champions league this year as Man United defeated Barcelona to make the final.Its there first final for 9 years & the scorer Scholes has a chance to make up for the one he missed in 1999 when he was suspended.The game started bad for United as Rooney & Vidic were ruled out just before kick off with hip & concussion injury’s.The it nearly got worse & Messi ran through into the penalty box & Scholes tripped him but the German ref only gave a free kick out side the area & by TV replay’s it was the right descistion but only just as watching it live it looked a penalty.Barcelona were playing the good football that took United time to settle but Scholes popped up & scored with a fantastic 25 yards shot which was rising into the top of the goal & past the diving Valdes this was only his 2nd goal this season but one of his most important of his career.Messi was really the only threat for Barcelona as he tried to get them back into the game with a left foot shot which Van Der Sar had to save.Ji-Sung had a chance for United before barcelona started to dominate Deco went close twice & they kept pushing but it was United who should have got the second goal & could have killed the game when Nani missed a golden chance when he glanced a cross wide of the goal from only 8 yards out. Arsenal ran wild over a relegated Derby who now could become the worse team in premiership football history.It was Derby who started the better & looked like taking the game to Arsenal .They nearly took the lead when Sterjovski had a 20 yard shot which has heading for the goal but was deflected by Alex Song which had the Arsenal keeper who this was his first premiership match going the wrong way but it dropped just wide.Darby then done there usual trick by making a mistake that undone all the good work at the start when Darren Moore gave then ball away to Van Persie who then played in Bendtner who shot under the despairing Carrol.Derby then had a let off when Van Persie fired over from point blank range but Derby then got back level through a free kick.Robbie Savage floated one over & Mceveley got half a head to it but the rebound feel right at his feet & he managed to poke it in from 5 yards.Could there be a surprise in the football result no there wasn’t as Arsenal stepped up a gear & poor old Derby’s lead last all but 10 Min’s when Toure clipped a ball into the penalty box & Moore made another mistake buy stepping out but it left Van Persie on side who controlled the ball onto his chest & smashed it in. The fight for 5th spot & a place in the Uefa cup in still on after Everton& Aston Villa had a dramatic match which ended in a draw.The game started with Everton pushing Aston villa back & trying to get the early goal & they came close on a couple of occasions espescally when Yakubu went past Reo-Coker in the 20th minute & drove his shot in the bottom corner which Carson saved the rebound went straight to Fernandesbut his shot went well wide.Villa went close with the dangerous Ashley Young hitting his free kick straight ontothe upright with howard beaten & then delivered a cross into the penalty box which Mellberg headed wide.The heavy rain was playing its part as well as the players were sliding into tackles & couldn’t really stop but the ref had other ideas & after using common sense at the start as,the game wore on started using his yellow card more often. Birmingham let slip a 2 goal lead as their relegation worries get worse.Liverpool with there big game on Wednesday made 9 changes to their team.In the early stages there wasn’t rally many chances created but Birmingham started to take the game to Liverpool as they tried to put some urgency into the game.Kapo showed some fantastic skill but he put in a cross which missed everyone when he could have put it into the penalty box better.It was James McFadden who showed him what he should have done when he created his own space when he got pass Riise & crossed into the box which Forssell controlled the ball on his chest & fired in a shot & straight into the goal.Liverpool did get a chance just before half time when Peter Crouch fired in a low long range shot which had the Birmingham keeper Maik Taylor having to scramble to his right to make the save. Fulham made comeback of the season when at half time they looked dead & buried & heading for the championship but some how kept there hopes alive.Fulham started the best like they knew they had to get a result where City look like a end of season game.It was Fulham who had the better chances early on as Clint Dempsey forced a save out of Joe Hart & then Jimmy Bullard had a long range shot that just dipped over the bar.But after or Fulham’s hard work it was City who took the lead when Stephen Ireland curled a fantastic shot into the net Fulham looked hurt after that & it showed when City then went two up when Benjani slid the ball home after 22 Min’s.Fulham looked a dead team as City were running the football match with Elano in great form with some of his vision & passing.Fulham did create a chance before the break when David Healy meet a fantastic cross from Simon Davis But Hart made a super one handed save from Healy’s point blank header.
