Chelsea started this game knowing they had to win the game & United had to loose for them to lift the trophy.But as the result turned out it could have bin worse for Chelsea as Terry & Drogba getting injured but they did extend there unbeaten record to 21 games & a chance of the European cup on the 21st May.
Chelsea started the game attacking Bolton knowing they had to win & nearly had the best of starts when Michael Ballack produced a low cross into the box which Drogba failed to convert.Then the worse thing that could happen was Terry getting injured & it looked nasty.Bolton kicked a long ball into the Chelsea penalty box Cech,Terry & Kevin Davis all jumped for the ball but as cech jumped his knee struck Terry in the elbow & dislocated it.He was stretched off with his shit being used as a sling & looked very much in pain.
With Terry off to hospital they replaced him with Belletti but it didn’t stop them coming forward & trying to get that first goal.Bolton on the other hand were working hard to close them down & stop them.Drogba came close twice once with a free kick that just went wide & then while in the penalty box it took a great challenge from Gretor Steinsson to stop Drogba from scoring.So it ended goalless at half time but they knew that United was 1 up in the other football match. Bolton Came out in the second half very late indeed making everyone wait including the Chelsea players but it didn’t work to well as it seem to Fire them into action.Malouda had a fantastic looping strike the Bolton keeper Al Habsi had to make a great save finger tipping it on to the bar then there was a great last gasp block to denie Belletti.Al Hasbi was in great form to keep Chelsea at bay.
He then made another fantastic save from Drogba who burst forward & unleashed a shot.But it was sub Shevchenko who was on for Makelele who broke the deadlock.For all there trying it was a miss hit shot that made the difference .It came from the edge of the penalty box that went straight through a ruck of players & ended at the feet of Shevchenko who don’t know how but poked it in from 6 yards & got the Chelsea fans going & dreaming of a Wigan goal.
But the goal seem to get Bolton going & they started to create some good football themselves.Cech had to be alert when he had to smother a shot from Hadji Diouf & the saw a looping header from McCann crash off the cross bar but it was left to Ashley Cole to clear it off the line.But more drama was to come when deep into injury time Alex made a very poor clearance & Taylor picked up the ball & fired it into the net to equalise.But it didn’t matter as United had scored again to win the title & the match.But Chelsea still have the champions league to go for & more football to come.
