Sunderland 0 Arsenal 1
Arsenal ended there premiership campaign with a win at Sunderland & started to think what could have bin as they only ended up 4 points behind the champions United.They will look into all the games they lost when they were ahead & conceded goals late on to either draw or loose the match.Sunderland on the other hand need to reshape the team & get some more quality players if they want to survive next season.
Even though it was a end of season affair & both teams had secured there places the game started with all the players getting stuck in.But it was sunderland who made the best start with only 15 seconds on the clock Edwards had a smash from about 30 yards & the Arsenal keeper Fabianski had to be alert to make the stop.Arsenal were rocked abit with the fast start but didn’t take them long to settle down & take a bit of control.
Danny Collins showed he didn’t want to loose his place in the team when he went real strong into Eboue just like his boss used to & he had to be stretched off but was okay to continue.Arsenal then put a move together & the football fell at Adebayor’s feet only for the Sunderland keeper Fulop to dive at his feet & make the save.But another flowing move resulted in the goal.Gilberto picked up the football from midfield & made a delightful pass splitting the defence in two & Walcott ran onto & placed the ball passed the keeper & into the bottom right hand corner of the net.
Sunderland tried to fight back & were holding Arsenal okay but the away defence were just to strong for them & keeping them at bay & giving them no chance in the football match.In fact Arsenal could have scored again when Senderos had a shot from all of 35 yards that went over the bar & Walcott could of had a second when he should have hit the back of the net from 7 yards out when Adebayor put him in. Chelsea 1 Bolton 1
Chelsea started this game knowing they had to win the game & United had to loose for them to lift the trophy.But as the result turned out it could have bin worse for Chelsea as Terry & Drogba getting injured but they did extend there unbeaten record to 21 games & a chance of the European cup on the 21st May.
Chelsea started the game attacking Bolton knowing they had to win & nearly had the best of starts when Michael Ballack produced a low cross into the box which Drogba failed to convert.Then the worse thing that could happen was Terry getting injured & it looked nasty.Bolton kicked a long ball into the Chelsea penalty box Cech,Terry & Kevin Davis all jumped for the ball but as cech jumped his knee struck Terry in the elbow & dislocated it.He was stretched off with his shit being used as a sling & looked very much in pain.
With Terry off to hospital they replaced him with Belletti but it didn’t stop them coming forward & trying to get that first goal.Bolton on the other hand were working hard to close them down & stop them.Drogba came close twice once with a free kick that just went wide & then while in the penalty box it took a great challenge from Gretor Steinsson to stop Drogba from scoring.So it ended goalless at half time but they knew that United was 1 up in the other football match. Wigan 0 Man Utd 2
Manchester United sealed the premiership title with a hard fought win over Wigan which is now there 10th title in 16 seasons which only puts them 1 behind Liverpool as the best English team ever & you wont bet on them equaling it next year or even getting the double in 10 days in the champions league final.
Wigan started the game in a confident mood showing everyone they weren’t going to lie down & hand United the title & was going to make a game of this.They were keeping United at bay with the Wigan team working for each other & playing some good football .It showed on Paul Scholes as he made a very wild challenge on Palacios which the ref (Steve Bennett) rightly showed Scholes the yellow card & a warning.
But the quality of United started to show & they got a grip of the game .With Rooney & Vidic back they were determined to score & win this football match.Scholes had a 20 yard shot which went wide but Wigan had a chance of there own when Boyce wasted a good effort & then should have had a penalty as Koumas had a shot going towards goal only for Ferdinand to put his arm in the way & deflect it wide for a corner.When watching it live it def hit his upper arm & the tv replays confirmed it.
But it was United who got the first goal & from a penalty which must have not gone down well with Wigan player’s as Rooney ran into the box only to be tumbled by Boyce & the ref pointed to the spot.Up stepped goal machine Ronaldo & put the football the opposite way to where Kirkland was diving & it was 1-0.The just before half time the ref must of bin thinking of his holidays as Scholes again made a bad challenge on Palacios as the ref ran over everyone was shouting off off.But for some reason the ref just gave him a stern warning & carried on!!!. Middlesbrough 2 Portsmouth 0
Middlesbrough scored twice to make sure that they will be playing top flight football next season with the result over Portsmouth who themselves haven’t won for 3 games but are more likely looking forward to the Fa cup final against Cardiff in a couple of weeks at wembley.
Middlesbrough didn’t start the first half like a team who could win this football match.They started very nervous & Portsmouth had all the play & should have really took it to Middlesbrough & put the game out of reach in the first 25 minutes.Distin who was playing well put in a great cross field pass which was brought down by Mvuemba who then put in a superb cross only to see Baros shot easily blocked & the rebound fell to Johnson who fired his shot well wide of the goal.
Portsmouth had Middlesbrough on the back foot & was trying to score but wished they didn’t fall to Baros who still hadn’t scored since his loan move & don’t look like doing so.Like after 20 Min’s Mvuemba had the ball looked up & picked him out with a love easy pass only for Baros to fire it hard & over the bar from 10 yards no wonder Liverpool got rid of him.Middlesbrough had no attacking & didn’t look like they could score & they are only better then Derby in that respect. After half an hour they did start to force something & Alves & Downing had long range shots which did trouble the Portsmouth Ashdown a bit but not to much.But with portsmouth now becoming wasteful Middlesbrough took there chance.They had a corner which Rochemback took he floated it over & Chris Riggot who was just called back from loan at Stoke powered a header past Ashdown & into the net to send them one up at half time.

Blackburn 3 Derby 1
Blackburn kept up there good form & a place in the intertoto cup within reach as they come from behind against bottom club Derby who are now officially the worse football club & point scorers & goals scored in the premiership since it began. Sunderland must be breathing a sigh of relief after this game as they had that tag until now & with teams getting stronger i pity teams coming up from the championship.
Darby started the game better & looked good with Blackburn not looking to threatening but Derby looked like they wouldn’t score.But they did take the lead in the 20th minute when Carroll make a long clearance which went straight to Kenny Miller who’s control was brilliant & he slotted the ball passed Brad Friedel into the right hand part of the goal to put Derby 1 up & everyone wondering could this be the day but it wasn’t to be.
Blackburn then had some chances of there own to peg Derby back like Jason Roberts should have done better but instead of a powerful shot he spent to much time thinking about it.Bentley tried to chip Carroll minutes later but he was only just wide.Derby were hanging on but unfortunately it didn’t last long.Blackburn’s buy of the season Santa Cruz got them back level when he collected the ball & side footed it past Carroll to put both team level at the break.
