Spain shows it didn’t matter who played when they made it three wins out of three when they beat Greece to keep up there momentum for when they play Italy in the quarter finals on Saturday like look a team who could win the tournament. For the defending champions Greece all they could do is score there first goal but didn’t looked the team they were four years ago that lifted the trophy.
The football match started as you would have expected as Spain had already qualified & Greece were already going home. So with this dead rubber of a game not much happened in the first half. The most noticeable was Xabi Alonso had two long range shots that were very close but wide. Karagounis made Euro2008 history when he received his sixth yellow card of the championships which is a record. But it was Greece who took the lead it was Karagounis who floated in the free kick & there was Charisteas to put in a powerful heard to score Greece first goal.
Spain thought they should have equalised just before the break when Iniesta was bundled over in the box by Karaguonis but the English ref Webb waved it away. The Spanish player went mad & Karagounis took all the flack when he fell to the ground & had the football kick straight at his head that was the end of the half .
The second half started with Spain taking the game to Greece showing it may be a dead rubber football match but they wanted to win it.Alonso was at it again when he took a shot from his own half that just went past the post & it was that close the Greece goal keeper Nikopolidis injured himself buy hitting the post. Alonso tried his luck again this time from 35 yards but was denied by the cross bar but they did pull level moments later a cross came in for Guiza he headed it down to De La Red who smashed it into the goal from the crossbar.
Spain now looked like the team to go & win it but Charisteas had other ideas when he hit a firm shot but it hit the post. But Spain just stepped it up both Guiza & Garcia went close with good shots but the pair then combined together to create the chance which they scored from Garcia crossed in for Guiza who headed his first goal for Spain & win the football match for them. Spain now with the Dutch look like the teams to battle this out for the championship but other teams will have something to say…

so who do u bet will win this Euro ? Spain look firm, with fast pace and clever passing.
I am still hoping Italy will turn it the way around. Hopefully Grosso will do another magic with his left foot.
