Portsmouth must be wondering where there defenders have gone after conceding 6 last week to City now conceded 4 more to Chelsea. It started with a penalty on 35 minutes from Frank Lampard after Ballack had been bundled over in the penalty box. Florent Mulouda then made it two just before the break. Another terrible mistake from David James gifted Lampard his second & Chelsea’s third on 50 minutes & then to cap it off a bad defensive mistake on 65 minutes let in Kalou to get there fourth..

But the first goal didn’t come untill the 52nd minute when Lee Cattermole put his scruffy shot into the net from a rebound. but Ipswich equalised 10 minutes later from a Jon Walters Volley but it only took Wigan 5 minutes to retake the lead from a Oliver Kapo header & after another 5 minutes Wigan went further ahead with a close finish from Paul Scharner. Ipswich tried to get back into the game but it was sealed for Wigan in stoppage time when sub Henry Camara headed home from a corner beyond Richard Wright..

Blackburn edged out Everton 1-0 at Ewood Park. It was a goal in the 10th minute from youngster Martin Olsson who was making his first start.
