Liverpool won the 208th merseyside derby thanks to Torres, Aston Villa had to come from behind to beat Sunderland, West Ham continue to win under Zola after beating Fulham, Man Utd got back to winning by beating Bolton, New Boys West Brom took the points at Middlebrough, Newcastle can’t get any worse can they? after loosing at home to Blackburn, Stoke found out just how hard it is by losing to Chelsea while other new boys Hull stun Arsenal in the result of the day.

The result of the day had to be Hull upsetting the apple cart by beating Arsenal 2-1 at the Emirates. It didn’t look that way in the first half as the game was a herd fought nil-nil. But it all happened in the second half in the 51st minute in fact when Theo Walcott who made a great run into the penalty box saw his shot turned in for a own goal by Paul Mcshane. But back came Hull & after 61 minute they got there equliser when Geovanni hit a powerful shot from outside the area & it flew into the top corner. The 5 minutes later from a corner Daniel Cousin headed home to put them in front. Arsenal then tried as hard as they could to break down Hull but they hung on for a famous win

Liverpool won the 208th merseyside derby 2-0 at Goodison park. After a goalless first half the game was settled in the second half by 2 kick goals from Torres in the space of 4 minutes. The first on 59 minute was a lovely volley going under Howard from a pin point pass from Robbie Keane. The second was all about Evertons defending something they have struggled with this season & Torres sprang on this & lashed the ball past Howard for number 2. Everton couldn’t get back into the game & it got even worse when the ref showed Tim Cahill a red card for a awful challenge on Alonso..

Stoke held Chelsea for about 35 minutes but went down 2-0 in the end. It was Jose Bosingwa who did the damage when he scored & made one. He scored the first goal after Frank Lampard looped a fine pass over the Stoke defence Bosingwa showed some great skill by taking the football on the chest then smashing the ball past Sorensen & a diving Griffin. It was Bosingwa’s low cross in the second half that set up Nicolas Anelka to tap in to secure the points for Chelsea.

Man United got back to winning but not how they would like after beating Bolton 2-0. With Rooney starting on the bench Man United didn’t look like getting into Bolton & in fact it was Bolton who had the best chance when Fabrice Muamba managed to miss a goal from 6 yards out but instead sliced the ball wide. But it was the second half that started the controversy  when the ref gave United a penalty that everyone was amazed at even the Bolton manager was in raged. But they couldn’t stop Ronaldo scoring from the spot. Rooney then came off the bench to secure the points as he exchanged passes with Ronaldo & then dummied the defence & put a bending low shot past the diving Jaaskelainen..

Fulham suffered a home defeat to West Ham who are going well under Zola 2-1. It was there goal keeper Schwarzer who would have wished for a better afternoon. He gave West Ham the lead after spilling a cross from Matthew Etherington right in front of Carlton Cole who scored . Schwarzer then decided to misjudge a pass from Mark Noble who lofted it into the path of Etherington & he slotted home. Fulham did get one back from a Murphy penalty after Neill handled in the box but it was made harder after Andy Johnson was sent off for two bookable offences..

Newcastle can it get worse? after another defeat at home to Blackburn 2-1. The first was a header from Christopher Samba from a Carlos Villanueva setpiece & the Newcastle defence were everywhere the second was nearly like the first as Santa Cruz rose above the Newcastle defence to head home past Shay Given from a Brett Emerton cross to be two up at the break. Michael Owen did given them some hope as he smashed a penalty past Jason Brown at the start of the second half but it didn’t raise the team & they lose again & stay 2nd from bottom of the league..

Aston Villa had to come from behind as they beat Sunderland 2-1. It was Sunderland though who started the better & it showed as they took the lead after 10 minutes. It was a fantastic pass from Steed Malbranque which put in Djidrill Cisse who clipped it first time past Brad Friedel & into the net. But the lead didn’t last long as a Ashley Young free kick 9 minutes later found the top corner past Craig Gordon at his near post. Aston Villa’s second goal was nearly like the first as it was again a Ashley Young free kick that bounced off the Sunderland wall straight to Stillian Petrov who then drilled the football across goal & there was Carew to back-heel it into the goal..

Middlesbrough lost at home to new boys West Brom in a drab affair 1-0. The football match was all down to a piece of terrible goal keeping & not much else. It was a scramble in Middlesbrough’s penalty box that they couldn’t clear & it fell to the feet of Jonas Olsson who couldn’t get much controll but managed to have a stab at the football but it didn’t have much punch but somehow it still had enough strength to trickle past Ross Turnbull in the Middlesbrough goal..
